I feel like I’m repeating myself too much on this thread, but as a former family law attorney, thank you for what you’re doing. The huge benefits I saw to children from the safe and stable foster homes were indescribable.

Having worked with troubled kids, the stability you’re providing them is the best sort of parenting IMHO as a former family law lawyer.

My spouse and I have medical conditions that could, possibly, maybe, at the fringes, keep us from having children. After years of “no, I really don’t want them” and “yes, I love nieces/nephews/adorable unrelated babies but not for me” you’d think we were in ICU the way I sell the medical sob story now.

Yes, I think you’re right. My “recently fired” memory was fuzzy.

Purely anecdotal, but most of the undocumented migrants around here go out of their way to avoid the cops, period, and are much more likely to be silent victims than visible perpetrators.

I once knew of a Mexican guy who had been deported six times and was in prison with number 7 on the horizon. He never crossed the border in the way a wall would have stopped him.

Reminds me of someone in EPL—maybe Mark Hughes?—who has a reputation for doing exactly that with subpar teams, then fading fast when they are mediocre.

That is one adorable family picture.

Well said, and I rarely agree with your MLS takes.

Not necessarily, because he was born to American parents and was a citizen since birth.

I’m glad someone else mentioned the penguin. I was starting to think I imagined him.

A brilliant ploy to attract American fans.

And Servando Carrasco, who is notable in soccer circles only through his wife, much to his occasional rage, is now in LA, so they don’t even have the faint notoriety of him on the roster.

When you have more money than you need, sometimes paying to end the issue is better than fighting it out, even if you could win. All the payment means is they wanted it wrapped up—any further is speculation.

I loved their uniforms.

Obstructing Governmental Administration. The NY misdemeanor everyone gets charged with for “diverting” cops from their duties by making them chase.

My sources are anecdotal, but 100% believe they are protecting the Good People. Their version of who is Good and worthy of their protection is just highly variable, usually involve variables such as pigmentation, deference and pigmentation.

How quickly they forget. This deserves more attention. And litigation.
