I’m with you. I’m sure they’ll try to oversell it as a Real World Cup or something, because MLS/SUM are idiots, but I’m all for some solid teams playing. I’d watch nothing but live sports if I could, so bring on more.

Agree. Yeah, it’s not the World Cup and it’s a pale imitation at best. And it’s tv-ready teams playing without a six-to-nine hour time difference where I’m not trying to watch on the computer or phone when the boss isn’t looking.

Teams I would want to see, playing on a US-friendly television schedule? I’m already making the popcorn for this. To choke on when I rage scream at Altidore napping on defense and when Wondo comes in. But I’ll watch.

I think it’s already happening. The US W team has been built on genetic freaks who outjump or outpace and they’re hurting without a Wambach to score impossible goals.

And I was at a game in 01(?) where the crowd went nuts when injured Johnson was replaced by Flutie. I have no doubt there’s a lot of racist Bills fans, but arguing for the backup is a given around here. During the few years I did criminal defense, I came to see jail/prison as largely useless, other than the (legitimate) rationale Prisoner 3432 would not be on the street for a period of time.

But “arrested and fired” is still a deterrent, whether or not there’s a prison sentence involved.

Please cast Daniel Dae Kim, pay him more than Hawaii 5-0 did, and let this show trash that trash in the ratings.

The “races too red” is the part that angers me, living in red country. Getting out the message even in a losing race means so much. Instead we get a republican in a walk and the continued narrative that the dems don’t care about rural people.

This has always been strange to me, coming from a really small town where we didn’t have school football. Mostly we played pick up soccer or sometimes baseball. When the gym teachers would do a football unit for a week or two every year, there were a significant number of people that had no clue about the rules…

NFL games are the only pro sport I’ve ever been truly bored trying to watch in person. Too much downtime, too much expense, too many loud drunks.
