The gear unlock systems in both Injustice 2 and MK11 completely wore me out. Way too much of a time sink to get the parts together to make something I want. I hope that’s a system that never makes a return.

This is not the hardware’s fault. This is the result of rushing the game out for release date & leaving a lot of shit in that should have been fixed.

I’d lean more towards ‘QA caught it, reported it, and it was deemed low priority’. I’ve seen more than enough bugs in my time get pushed off to the side, only for it to bite the devs/publisher in the ass later on.

The best thing for QA to do is have in the database when the inevitable backlash from the brass happens.…

Seeing this reminds me of how Drift Stage never came out. That was a project that looked great, but the dev just ghosted the whole thing. Still the only Kickstarter project I’ve backed that never came through.

The fact that you have to $50 to buy most things with the multiple times of currency is baffling. I figured the Lite version would be ‘hey, unlock stuff in F2P style’ and the paid version would bypass all of that.

The Lite version might as well not even exist in the state it’s available in.

I don’t recall having to install anything from the PS4 version of FF7R when I went to play the PS5 upgrade. I just installed the PS5 app and was good to go.

Two weeks was my experience for disc-based games to go from passing cert to having copies ready. When I was with 2K, we pushed quite a few things right up to the wire. If we had failed cert at that point, we would have missed Street date.

In my time with Take-Two, most of my work went uncredited. They certainly never forgot to put the HR folks into the credits, though! Or hook them up with the super-swag editions of games that they never actually played.

I was in Kyoto in 2019, too. Any of the main sightseeing attractions and shopping areas were busy, for sure. Step away from those, though, and things mellow out. I went in search of a coffee shop and a burrito place I know of there and those spots were really quiet.
