I am admittedly a bit trans-ignorant (but learning every day). The assumed scenario seems similar to what happens in The Crying Game.

Is that movie also anti-trans? If so, why? I’m not trying shit disturb or anything. Trying to learn more so I can be more sympathetic to the issue.

I’m glad we found the person who knows every trans person and knows what they all do...

You can’t tell people how to perceive a trans person. Some people will, no matter what, perceive the trans person as their original gender.

That does not, in any way, mean that we can’t accept everyone for who they are and treat them with dignity and respect.

“transgender people don’t do this. Like, they don’t have sex with people without telling them they’re transgender.”

Smart transgender people don’t do this, no. Not so smart transgender people.. I mean they usually don’t get to the actually having sex part, but definitely approaching people for sex without telling them

If you don’t understand why the Finn and Rose adventure was important

It’s just as you say. The movie sucked in ways many video games do because the movie was made the same (wrong) way those games are: end to beginning and bullet-point driven.

The Last Jedi story structure goes like this:

I might have enjoyed Finn & Rose’s story if the codebreaker they had been sent to find had turned out to be Lando.

The moment Admiral Holdo turn the ship around and cut Snoke’s cruiser in two with a hyperdrive jump is where the movie jumped the shark. What, nobody thought about doing that in the first place? Dude, that could have saved a hell of a time and potentially winning the war if they get lucky enough to kill every First

Because Superfans want to know how someone became so powerful in the darkside under the Sith rule of two while the Emporer and Vader were alive. You’re comparing cinematic narrative structures of a films 40yrs apart and completely ignoring the lore created in the franchise in between.

Honestly, whomever toned up ROGUE ONE be it tony gilroy or someone else should have given a once over to the last Jedi and it may have been tighter. I would put rouge one ahead of tlj at this point. The story and visuals are more consistent.

I saw Force Awakens for the second time yesterday. I liked it the first time, so I was surprised to realize that Rey had no character arc. She started awesome at everything and ended awesome at everything. I was also surprised about the weird lack of gravity to the First Order killing about a trillion people, and by

I just keep thinking he’s like the Wizard of Oz, all show and no go for some reason.

Would it have been so terrible for the last Jedi Master to kick a little ass before he dies? Everyone in the audience wanted that to happen!

That’s what I thought too! I was genuinely surprised by a lot of the positive reviews I’m seeing. I felt like the movie didn’t really progress the story in any meaningful way. The whole thing just felt convoluted and poorly directed. In fact, it occurred to me today that after seeing the Force Awakens, I was so hyped

*Spoilers*

Exactly this.

“And how both Kylo and Rey, in the end, look at each other and say, we can do this differently.”

The movie was a big disappointment though, right? I felt let down. I don’t want to get into specifics as it’s way too early for spoilers.

My theory is that they held off the Quicksilver/Magneto reveal to lure Fassbender back for another movie, but good Lord that was bad. His freaking son is standing right there, but he’s brought back to the good guys side because Jennifer Lawrence asked him real nice. That movie had a lot of potential, but they dropped
