I was amazed in Phoenix that the speed limits were so low on such a wide freeway.

I think the issue is less of one of high speed, and more an issue of speed differential. You end up with issues when a bunch of people are going 80 MPH, one guy is going 100, and then you have the old lady going 55.

Pretty sure that ship sailed when he was convicted of a felony

RAM regularly sells pickups in the $70-90K range, so I don’t see this as that much of a stretch.

I agree with this point. Jeep managed to push the Grand Cherokee into the near-luxury range, and they are not out of place at a country club. But FCA does not have a luxury presence beyond Maserati/Alfa, and those dealers are decoupled from the CDJR networks.

I don’t think its that simple. They risk alienating the White Trump base with their actions, which I bet is a rather sizeable amount of people.  While you are not wrong that cost was likely a consideration, I want to believe that their are actually good people out there that want to do the right thing.

It is a sad state in society when we are surprised when a corporation does the right thing.

My wife had a black Charger RT with a black grille, and she experienced this all the time. Her next car was a gray Taurus SHO with a black grille, so it didnt get better.

The average person would not go looking for trouble, and avoid the situation.

I am actually quite conflicted by this.  I don’t think I want a bunch of charging infrastructure in the middle of nature.  I get it, this is an ORV trail and not exactly untouched nature, hence why I am conflicted.

He has that sweet Mustang in his garage...Might be worth actually getting that thing back to new again, but maybe actually spend a few dollars and do it right.

With all due respect, you are full of crap. Just cause you have kids doesn’t mean you need to buy a beigemobile.  I would probably wait and get one with the warranty, assuming they are not mechanically inclined, but nothing wrong with their choice.

CarMax and Autonation are retailers, so that is their core competency and their reason for existence. The automakers, on the other hand, specialize in building cars.  I am guessing they have no interest in selling them, or I am sure they would have lobbied against the dealer associations.  Still does not deal with the

I am not sure if you have noticed, but the OEMs are not exactly hemorrhaging free cash right now to go lease a bunch of vacant shopping malls and convert them into retail stores.

Ding Ding Ding! Add in education and healthcare costs that have risen dramatically as wages remained stagnant.

I think a lot of kids see the success of their parents and other older people, and automatically think they deserve now what they worked hard to get.

The necessity for a new car is an old idea from the boomer generation when cars lasted all of 4-5 years before they rotted out and major components needed reconditioning.

I doubt that OEMs want to come up with the capital expenditure to purchase the real estate required for 3-5k retail stores in the United States, plus have to own all of the inventory of vehicles, and parts. Now you have several thousand employees that need to go on payroll with benefits and taxes.

I’m glad we’ve perfected the art of car manufacturing.

Fuel economy is no longer a consideration and everybody posts compact vehicles with decent fuel economy.
