I was skeptical of the new headlight designs in cars such as the Santa Cruz, but having seen one recently on a rainy night, I thought “that’s neat”. Maybe it’s neat cuz it’s new, but still, good on ya Hyundai.

So what do we do if we find out it was 100% an accident? And also, how would we define “accident”?
How do we solve the problem of cars mowing down bikers?
I think harsher penalties would be nice. I also think this is were collision avoidance tech and some automotive preventative tech could be helpful. Infrastructure for more bicycle lanes/paths I think also would help the problem.
I am proposing that motorists should be held accountable if they kill anyone.
We’re all subject to the skill and attention of another random stranger on the road. If this person had struck a car on the shoulder and killed someone, do you think they would have walked away free? Maybe, maybe not.
I know it’s trendy right now, but for those that mitigate even their own risk, gravel riding is a good in between of road cycling and mtbing.
My favorite hack was using a long neck screw driver to reach into the engine bay to short the car’s starter. That worked on my 92 Taurus.
Finally, some thing to compete against the 2013 Chevrolet Spark for “Longest Headlight”.
American “small” doesn’t equate to global “small”. Sure, it’s smaller than a Suburban, but so are some apartments. That said, I do agree that that segment of crossovers generally checks a ton of boxes in many categories.
Chevrolet Sprint Turbo.
Age does not convey relevance. I wouldn’t ever consider a Mitsubishi Mirage as relevant as a 25 year old Lancia Delta Integrale Evo.
Yeah, that’s the downside of first gen, but once that’s done, they’re pretty great.
I’ll second the CRV train, but raise you (or lower) to you the first Gen. The AWD got my wife and I out of some surprisingly exciting snow. The size wasn’t huge inside, but the rear window hatch quite useful for hardware store runs. It’s also a efficient enough, and reliable enough, and probably affordable enough.
The most budget car is no car at all.
Since cheap is relative, I think for the crossover market, a gently used Hyundai Santa Fe Sport base model is a bargain. It has plenty of space for adventuring, gets decent MPG both with FWD or AWD, handles well, cheap maintenance. It checks a bunch of the boxes, and at least before the used market went up, was a…
This seems like a “you problem”...
Trade?
Not gonna lie, our 2007 Ford Focus just wont die.
2017-2018 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T
It checks a lot of the boxes:
More usable space
Decent MPG
Decent ground clearance
Can sleep in the back if need be
Reliable
It comes in AWD
Ah, so Derek Kieper was the Herman Cain of seatbelts?
