Don’t do dumb stuff like to your headlights. You want to be optimizing light output, not hindering it.

My 2004 Outback was something like that, if you remembered to turn on the ‘Cruise Control’ button behind the steering wheel on the dash.

We’re lucky to build a mid sized bridge for $160M in the US, and it won’t look this good.

Yeah, but I’m saying that TruCoat. You don’t get it, you get oxidation problems. It’ll cost you a heck of a lot more than $500

You couldn’t pay me enough to live in Florida.

You forget, if the sea level rises that will be beachfront property.  🤪

Loving this series! It keeps reminding me how much I love my 2012 Leaf. These really are tragically underrated cars, as long as the range isn’t a problem, and they don’t get nearly enough appreciation. I also use the 110v charger every night - it’s slow, but for a small battery, that doesn’t matter. I haven’t worried

Nice job! Especially the taillights, I agree, those clear tails are awful.

After restoring the headlights give them a couple coats with some clear plastic paint that has UV protection (typically the outdoor stuff)

From that headline, I wouldn’t exactly say an Island that’s 700 miles away from Denmark is in Denmark. Yes, it’s a self governing island that’s a part of Denmark, but it’s not like it’s just a stone's throw off the coast of Denmark. It's way closer to Scotland that it is to Denmark.

It’s a beautiful example of a car that was kind of crap when it was new. Crap then, crap now, but still somewhat interesting because of the rarity. I have no interest in owning it though.

No, there are LOTS of cars like this down here in God’s Waiting Room. I am sure the paint is no better or worse than any other Escort of the era, other than the dealer may have detailed it nicely. That can work wonders in photographs.

Also, you may need to mow your roof.

There’s one in southwest Norway that’s underground, and belongs to a system of undersea tunnels, but the roundabout itself is under an island.

The tunnel is politically in Denmark as the Faroes are Danish - but it’s not geographically in Denmark.

I actually love seeing these time-capsule sort of cars, and I’d consider buying one to acually drive, and there are worse choices than a stickshift Escort, but... eleven grand? You outta your mind?

You might want to check your sources. The Faroe Islands are very, very hilly, having the tallest sea cliffs in Europe.

Toyotas and Subarus do (did? been a while since I drove a recent one) have cruise control you can work with your pinky. It’s on its own little dedicated mini-stalk which you can twiddle with the pinky finger of your right hand, and it’s sublimely easy to operate without having to change your hand position one bit.

If you drew that thing we’re already aware of it.

It is the world’s coolest car as drawn by middle school me.
