Kinja seems to flop between “completely unusable” and just “mostly broken” on a weekly basis for me while using Firefox.
I love when you click the button that says “2 replies” and nothing happens at all. Guess they’re ghosts.
This is a great example of “just because something is old, don’t assume it’s bad.”
I mean, I’m sure somebody is saying you can’t use the OK sign anymore. But I was more just letting the world know my thoughts on it from the get-go.
Part of the way the Alt-Right trolls everyone else is by co-opting tons of common and mundane symbols into “white power” symbols. I’m not interested in playing their game, so I’m going to keep right on using the “ok” sign.
When they still used Smart cars in Denver I remember seeing them stranded everywhere in the snow, and stuffed into snowbanks at odd angles like littered fast food cups. That may be why they switched entirely away from Smart cars here. The Mercedes probably did better in the snow, but riding in them in them a few times…
Sometimes you’ve just got to drive a deathtrap.
I think you think “murica promoting oil burnin rednecks” are the only demographic that likes “rugged trucks.” I could see the Bolinger selling well here in Colorado depending on their price.
I’m countering on the following:
There’s a strip mine a few hours from where I live that uses these dump trucks, and there’s a public dirt road that crosses one of the mine’s internal roads. The experience of pulling up to a stop sign for a crossroad the width of a parking lot, and then waiting for something the size of a building to drive past is…
I know, that’s one of my most favorite photos ever.
You’re totally right.
They are.
That’s because it is, haha. That hillside is blasted away now and I-70 runs through about 100 ft below 1940s ground level. The photo was taken in present-day Evergreen. It makes me nostalgic for when that would’ve been unpopulated.
Once you get past the 1870s and 80s exposure times were generally down to the fraction-of-a-second range. Once you hit the turn of the century exposure times weren’t really noticeably longer than what we’re used to now. I often use a 1910 Kodak and it has 1/25th and 1/50th of a second shutter speeds. The biggest…
I wouldn’t worry about the brakes thing. Tons of people will tell you that you have to upgrade the brakes somehow, but here’s the thing: If the brakes are adjusted correctly and you can lock the wheels up while moving, that means you’re already getting the absolute maximum amount of braking power you can have before…
