Heresy, I love my Austins.
Heresy, I love my Austins.
It works like the old Churchill quote: “You can depend upon the Americans to do the right thing. But only after they have exhausted every other possibility.”
Hey, like a quarter of the country lives in a tent now anyway but do they have a Ford GT? No they do not.
IF that’s a hatchback, then we can throw in an Audi RS5, Porsche Panamera...
I also fell prey to the Carvana offer for my 2018 GTI S, plaid seats, stick, the whole shebang. I sold it for more than I paid for it, 3 years after I bought it.
Every passing year I feel more satisfied about purchasing my Mk7.5 with 7k miles. I haven’t found a single thing to dislike about it, the newer generation is markedly worse in quite a few respects, and the best part is that I still have two years on my warranty.
Absolutely not.
I know a former cop who seems like a decent human. He lasted about 3 years in uniform, then went to law school & has been a public defender for the last 15 years.
“For Sale: Rust-free, low miles, never driven in winter, no electrical problems, stripped interior. Ideal for engine swap. Needs new tires. $22,000 firm.”
He stands up as soon as the seatbelt sign goes off on the plane.
He took other people’s food from the fridge, even though it was CLEARLY marked.
I saw an on-duty cop park his brodozer in two spaces in front of a high school where a Covid vaccine clinic was being held a few years ago. I saw some older folks that could’ve used those spots so they wouldn’t have had to walk so far from the parking lot, but Officer Dickbag had to take up two. It was an egregious…
It really is baffling.
A (former) cop who doesn’t abide by the rules? Who parks illegally and doesn’t give a f*** that he’s blocking other people? Who drives without regard to others? In New York?
I just much prefer the earlier small-screen but still CarPlay/AA stereo. And of course, the Sport, which to me is the perfect GTI spec, is only a one-year MK7. The Rabbit was close, but I didn’t like the wheels. And that stereo “upgrade”, ugh. But the 7.5 is a fine car too. And I suppose that if I was able to go back…
Agreed. Except for the Mk 7.5 part. (There is one in my garage).
And VW isn’t offering a manual GTI in the states anymore. They are probably looking for an excuse to kill it off and sell a million more Tiguans. Dumb move because GTI drivers buy Tiguans when they need space for the family.
I feel like we’re a couple months out from some techbro hypeman claiming he can solve the coming Air Traffic Controller problem with AI, and at that point we’ll all be doomed.
Wait, that seatbelt sign is for real? Next you’ll be telling me I should keep my shoes and socks on, not jam my laptop repeatedly into the seat-back pocket, use headphones to watch movies on my iPad, and not bring my fried tuna fish sandwich on board. So much for land of the free, amiright?
I suppose that’s preferrable to the other alternative.
