Too woke!!! Too much DEI!!! Looks like it was designed by Black trans socialist!!!

Or they’ll replace it with an EV like the GTX or whatever they’re calling it. I’m not an opponent of EVs but the point of the GTI is to be an “everything” car. Small enough for cities, but capable of eating miles. Replacing it with something you can’t take on a road trip without adding hours of charging is a stupid

I agree, and the fact they killed off the regular golf almost seems to indicate they want the whole model out of the US market and limiting options makes it less expensive to sell here/dries up sales so they can say “see? no one wanted a gti, buy a tiguan instead”

GTI sales will drop so much without the manual it will give them an excuse to kill it and make yet another SUV.

I currently drive a Hyundai Santa Cruz with AWD and the 2.5T but I’d love to have either:

I’ve driven over 20K miles on roadtrips across the Western and Central US in EVs. I’ve never encountered an issue where I was not able to charge. I drove through a blizzard in Montana on I-90 without charging problems.

As of the 2025 model year, it won’t be available with one.

If the pickup was Ranger size instead of F-150 size, I’d be a lot more interested.

I can’t help but feel like this is all jumping the gun at the moment. So Scout debuts in 2024, but I see these won’t be available to purchase until 2027. There’s a lot that could happen in the next 2 years, who knows if VW America could be around then, let alone Rivian with whom VW partnered for tech help.

Love it.

I want one WITH the range extender, and very likely will purchase one. But, I don’t see any purpose to the reservations, so I haven’t placed one. I image there are many out there like me.

Came here for this, not disappointed.

That certainly clarifies things over simply stress relief distortion.

I fully expect “chock chock chock chock” noises whenever the car jumps.

Attention automakers: Electric vehicle wheels do not HAVE to look stupid.

Looks more like a birdstrike.

Why does the a pillar look dented.  Is it converging sunlight onto the mirror housing?

Sometimes end consumers figure out issues that engineers can’t simply because they use their vehicles in a million unpredictable ways.

Since the pic wasn’t included in the story (Bradley might not want to use the image from another site) here you go:
