I feel like a G70 is the right call here...

It’s crazy to think the price for this starts under the golf r; I feel like one of Minis biggest drawbacks is that their starting prices are usually well over the competition. Seems like a cool car based on the review.

Well; the new car is 183 inches long with a 107” wheelbase and a 76 inch width. Bigger than a 992 in each dimension. I bet the C8 will feel bigger too. I still think people are going to cross shop them but just pointing out that the C8 is a BIG(comparatively speaking) car.

Although I think that person is overstating the 911s family duties. And I do consider the 911 and corvette competitors. I think 10% is probably low on how many people consider the rear seat(even if it’s small) a selling point. My daughter loves the back seat of my 996 and I’ve talked to a few owners who say the same.

It’s a 500hp mid engine $60,000 car. The response seems appropriate.

I dunno if you saw my post but a car with flares and an S50 went for $28k on BAT not long ago; this thing isn’t as interesting to me as that was.

The real problem here is that this car with an S50 and box fender flares and lower miles went for $10 grand less on BAT:

When I worked for a county government it was the conservative commissioners that were far more limiting on people using property(mostly vineyards trying to run event venues on the side). But sure; restrictive local zoning codes are a liberal thing.

I wouldn’t lump all of them in together. SWB cars fetch less than LWB, and pre 1990s cars fetch less, and automatics fetch less. I didn’t see any LWB, LHD, manual Gs; especially post 1990 that sold for under $15k on BAT. But I didn’t look that closely. There have been some flukes  like the SWB manual that sold for

You’re spot on; it’s in the right zone. If you wanted to spend the time importing your own you could probably do better but if for whatever reason you’ve got your heart set on a G and have $22,500; this is about what you’re going to get.

They probably spent about $20,000 importing and know that theirs is in rough shape.

The new are somewhat different from the older ones. A better comparison is with euro prices; and 4 doors in decent shape form after 1990 start around 15,000 euros from what I recall(I was thinking one of these would be a cool camping rig but with serious street cred in my neighborhood). They go up pretty quickly to

Would gladly take a 718 pdk as a second car...

But in the grand scheme; Chevy originated “SS” in the 1960s and has done far worse things to that namesake.

Assuming the Ct4 is meant to be an S3 competitor and they match it in pricing then I think all the tears shed over the last day about the lack of power will be silly. The V name is not so old or sacred that they can’t realign it a bit . I’m more disappointed to not see a manual. Not that I’d buy it right now if it had

I don’t have near the excitement you do but I think this is actually smart. The ATS-V by all accounts was a very unique and class leadings car in a lot of ways. But it was also very expensive. A lot of interesting tech from the V could also be had in the lower models(adjustable mag dampers, Brembos, lsd) but I felt

I suspect that this will be their S competitor level product, and as I said elsewhere if the CT4 undercuts or matches the S3 in price then I think the car could be popular, my guess is that if these sell wel they’ll come out with a line above them V Track or something. Just a guess. It makes sense to have a model

I’m not super excited about these; but if the price is reasonable(which I expect is part of the reason there is a truck motor in the CT4; and I’d define reasonable for the CT4 as priced under the S3) I’d understand the reasoning. But the only way I’m getting excited is a manual. And I’m guessing it won’t happen which

How about we all stop being so judgey about what is right type of car for which person at which time?

As the owner of a 996 cab; you nailed it. I think well taken care of coupes are starting to become more desirable but the cabriolet models start at $12-15k for higher mileage cars.
