There’s a subtext here that I don’t see in the comments yet - she is probably underwater as hell on the Tahoe and paying cash for the new car. It means from TikTok she made $________ to dig herself out of that Tahoe and $_______ to buy herself a new car? I wonder if she may not have actually been better off buying a

It’s where I’m putting my money. The stick, the functionality, they great, fun economical little engine; “luxury” or not; it’s a good car in its price range.

Let’s be real; a 2015 Chrysler 200 might not be people around here’s dream car but tut should be serviceable transportation. I say find a mechanic you can trust and get your current car sorted. $23k for a kid headed off to college seems silly; even if due to the recent used car market $23k isn’t getting you what you

This is something that I think is really important. If you look at cars with well liked and modern transmissions- mainly ZF’s 8 speed - people seem to get closer to advertised mileage and a good advantage over previous six cylinders.

The real correct answer here is a first gen panamera s or 4s. I know it’s not technically a wagon but it’s close and fast.

Nahh, 1Le with the 2.0T is over $30k I’m pretty sure.

I think that is how the BMW 330e operated...ZF 8 speed gearbox with electric motor in lieu of a torque converter.

Any 2+2 with a manual so I have something to wish for.

I guess to me if the $1,500 is refundable, no matter what, then it could be considered not consideration. I guess as is the case with every situation in law school where it’s down to menial facts- an argument could be made both ways.

If you give them money but make no promise then it’s not quite a contract. You’d need mutual consideration. A non refundable deposit would have gotten closer. Or you could go the promissory estoppel route if there was some action taken in reliance.

It’s parody- one of the better SNL skits of the last few years that I’ve seen.

I recall replacing the rear ones without dropping anything. From memory It’s a weird reach but it’s doable.

You’re right; with linkage tight front and back it’s a good feeling shifter.

You have a passion for arguing about the quality of this car I just can’t match. I just wanted to point out there is a fix for sloppy shifting that’s often effective and quick, cheap, and EasY but that some owners are hesitant to undertake.

There are likely still too many of them and they’re a little too hohum for the base models to be all too desirable. Clean turbo s and turbo models seem to have done a little better in creating a market but still not crazy.

Highly doubt it’s a transmission problem; the pin on the shifter linkage wears down. You have to cut it off and drill it out and replace with a bolt and some bushings. Replacing the bushings out back helps too. $50 in parts maybe and maybe 1-2 hours for all of it. I owned a 944 and in my time hanging out on the forums

I had an earlier one, same engine but slightly lighter with more primitive suspension, and found it to be good fun. I think this is a car that with an automatic would not be as enjoyable.

An E90 is good but I think a 335is is a better call for lower running costs. You get the 7 speed DCT but mated to slightly hotter n54(?).

It’ll fit front facing seats; it’s a lot of miles but it might have a lot more in it.
