That’s a bit of an overstatement. The black plastic around the controls is kind of low grade and the steering wheel is bulgy but the seats are good, the materials hold up well, and most of it looks pretty good. (Shrug)

The second car in the first picture is a lemon law buyback. Was this planned or just perfect by coincidence?

Sooo much fun and aggravation and joy and stress for $5,700.

If the Aston came with a manual, I think a lot of Jalops would be more likely to give it the nod. I know that would be a deal breaker for me. I love the way it has some concept car features to its exterior.

Also, if you meant the car was more show than go(which is not how I’ve heard the phrase used) then Im sorry for saying it was a sexist remark.

My name is supposed to be more of a comment about my MIL(as a non car person) who first saw my Porsche 996 and commented rthat the headlights are cool where as enthusiasts say they are awful. It’s more of a comment on the ridiculousness of group thought that happens in car culture.

Uggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhbhhhhhhhhhh

Well I agree but the dudes who go around saying this particular phrase usually mean it a certain way.

What the hell are you even talking about? Hairdressers version? Putting aside the outdated sexism; it’s just another version of the R8. Porsche has been giving people rwd and awd versions of the 911 for 30 years. Ones not better than the other, just different. The cool part is here, you can get the RWD for less money.

Performance car? yes. Sports car: not really. Even with IRS and advanced chassis features it’s still way too big/heavy to be a sports car. I hate quoting jack Baruth but I’m gonna do it:

Let me guess; you’d call a Mustang GT a sports car; no quotes; but not the 86 twins?

Tall wife problems! I’m forever doomed to find cars where my kiddo can sit behind my seat cause my wife is 6’2” and not very space consciencous so there is no convincing her to squeeze her seat forward.

There are a handful of situations and car models for which I would say, even to a cheapskate, new makes sense. Heavily discounted previous year models and low depreciation cars, if you’ve got the money, why not.

I don’t know man; if someone offered you $15 million to break both your legs; would you take it?

Usually it’s a car that represents something you can no longer get. The other part of it is exclusivity. Last part of the equation seems to be nostalgia. But also; it’s conpletely unpredictable. Looking at the recent past, the E30 M3 for example represented classic looks, small size, lightweight, and fairly simple; it

It’s what your Camaro magically changes into when you cut off your mullet.

In fairness; he said V6s. Not necessarily all 6 cylinders. The flat 6 and in-line 6 I think tend to be more palatable in higher end cars because of sound and smoothness and exclusivity.

As a person with a Totoro avatar who moved away from Oregon after 9 years there; I’m getting some feels.

Here is something Cadillac could do to help fix the situation: make their cars more lifestyle friendly with nicely integrated roof rack options. BMWs look great with racks on them. If I were cross shopping a 428i coupe and an ATS coupe; the 428i would have a leg up on rack options alone.

That way when Danny brown raps “you fell off like Tom Sellick in a Celica” it flows right.
