It would be nice if Subaru worked on a dual clutch gearbox for their high performance (BRZ, WRX, STI) models. They have some of the biggest difference in 0-60 speed among their cars comparing manuals to automatics.

Here’s a funny story about the veloster. Because it’s common in that blue color and looks cool as hell, my wife confuses it with volvo’s polestar, so for about 2 months, every week she would come home and say, “I saw one of those polestars.” And then after 30 seconds of clarification, we determine it was indeed a

There’s something about this I like from a distance but some of the overdone features ruin, mostly the front fenders.

It’s my understanding that the EVO was on its modified chassis separate from the regular lancer. Why not update the current lancer and outlander(sport) models to the old EVO chassis(upgraded suspension and I believe lighter); rework the 2.4l mivec into a more competitive 175hp range(shouldn’t be that hard as tuners

I don’t know who buys Chevy Cruzes. Actually, I do. I taught a class not long ago where one of my students contacted me not long before a mid term and said that the gas station person(OR) had put regular gas in her diesel Cruze and that she couldn’t make the midterm. This is an insanely dumb excuse from a young woman

Well this was pretty goddamned awesome writing.

Maybe it’s just me, but in the last 21 months I’ve never considered the safety of the car when I’m strapping my kid in(Cavalier, Corolla S, E34, freestyle, highlander, fusion- it’s a sad list I know, unfortunately no one in my family is much of a car person) I’m much more concerned about the safety of the

I don’t know exactly. Current car is 225hp/3500 pounds. I think I’d prefer more in the 275 range.

Not worth it is a judgment call I can understand. But by the same token of getting similar for less, every car after a Focus RS or STI seems pretty not worth it considering what cars like that offer for $35k.

Trash for the price? Come on, I know this is the internet but that’s a huge overstatement.

That's why I've been trying to find a Ralliart Sportback. Not quite as good but about as close as it gets and for way less money.

A good way to measure the likelihood of pre-hoonage is to look at the amount of branded titles to non branded. And by that measure, the WRX is definitely at the head of the pack along with the Mustang.

I’ve actually seen a similar story in an ad for a WRX, and it had a few mods but the person said they were selling it for their mother in law. I’m not saying a 50 plus year old woman couldn’t own a modded WRX but it seems unlikely.

I guess my methods and reporting on my methods weren’t exact. I actually searched back to 2013 for WRXs, which is farther back than 1-2 years.

A great example of an exception to the “never buy new” rule is the Subaru WRX. At least in my area they don’t depreciate very fast, and almost everyone who buys one does so with the express intention of driving it pretty damn hard. Quick craigslist search shows asking prices for one to two year old models around

The ironic thing is that every time I see a cheap RX-8, I feel a certain sense of Tavarish-esque justification of why I want to get it, “why would I spend $12,000 on a used boxster when I could have this equally well balanced, higher revving, 3 door, 4 seater RX-8 for way cheaper.” But I’ve also never acted on that

Reasonably people can agree to disagree but the drives and build sheets tell a different story and when modifications are done to account for them, the gap should narrow. More to your point, the big difference between an SE and ST is what, 80-90hp? And the only way to close that gap is through a $4000-5000 turbo kit.

Any mortal can flash the 1.8t, and add lowering springs and a larger rear sway bar and have a GTI’ish golf/sportwagen for a bit less money. The difference between the golf and GTI is small these days(unless you’re talking about a GTI with the performance pack).

I just wish they would set some better ground rules to the questions. I know that leaving things vague allows for more entertainment but exotic is pretty vague, let alone the title’s “entry level exotic”.

Something about this chart led me to thinking about how sex is often a good adventure but that I wish I could have answered yes to seeing a bear during one of those adventures.
