subaru remedied the problem with their diffs sending shrapnel into the tranny at about 2003 or so, and the oil starvation issue is just that, you have to religiously watch the oil because if you’re low, the bearings might not get oil because the crank case is just as low as everything else in a boxer and it doesn’t…
