Yeam I’m aware. They switched to MLS in like 1998.5 right?

Also vintage 911s are APPRECIATING, not depreciating like new cars.
I bought my 911 for less than $5,000. It had been sitting for 21 years and needed a lot of love to get it roadworthy again.
You’re cute.
Everyone told me the SVX was unreliable. I put 100k on mine, when I bought it with 100k. I knew the trans was the weak point, and I knew trans fail because ATF fails. I drained and filled the trans at every other oil change. Still works today (different owner).
So let me guess, you drive a 944. If not STFU.
I’m pretty sure most luxury cars have electrical issues when they age, as there is simply more wiring in them. BMW. Audi. Caddy. Whatever.
All the lucas stuff seems to work fine in my 72 mini. It’s all original, too. >shrug<
I don’t think you know what you are talking about. I have an old 77 Porsche 911S. It’s very reliable. I had to regrease the starter. Change a fuel filter. That’s it. I have a 95 Audi S6 Avant. I’ve had to change the ignition lock ($20) and a coolant hose ($8). If you can turn a wrench, you can own an old german car.
That’s a really poor way of thinking about it.
Come visit!
Nah. Would rather have a vintage 911, vintage mini cooper, S6 Avant, a sick boat, some snowmobiles and a winter beater instead. New cars are too expensive.
I just went to look at one about a month ago. Guy was asking $4500. I’d always been a huge fan of them since I saw one on the cover of motortrend in about 1998, so I test drove it. Here are some observations:
Or we could... you know... spend that dollar on education or infrastructure, since we already have a military that can kick everyone else’s ass in the world.
I’ve been dailying my narrowbody 911 for a year. I’ve never encountered what makes it so deadly, but I’m also not driving it at 10/10ths. Even in wet parking lots, I can’t get the car to do the famous snap oversteer. I think people blow this out of proportion.
This game would be sweet if it didn’t crash every 5-10 minutes. :(
I try to do everything myself. If I had to pay for labor I wouldn’t be able to afford much at all.
Sorry, wax is totally pointless. Does it protect paint? Sure, kind of, if you consider it very temporary. Some of the nicer wax will literally melt off your car in high heat. Luckily, SCIENCE has brought us progress. Use a polymer sealant instead of wax, I use Klasse. I put some on my S6 when I had it repainted 2…
