Last year I got into snowmobiling. I wound up restoring an old 91 Wildcat 700, the fastest sled sold in the early 90s, and about 1.5 months later wrapped it around a tree and dislocated a bunch of stuff in my foot. It was so much fun I rode snowmobiles for the next 2 days on a steady diet of whiskey and pain meds.

Why are they tracking such different cars? Obviously the most track focused one will win. Which one wins in real life? The hellcat. FOR SURE. It's beyond ridiculous.

The build quality was utter shit though. Check out the panel gaps in the interior, and also note the door locks on the interior. Just... wow. My 89 Honda had better build quality.

Yup. Same with my boat, my sleds, my S6, my insight, etc. I don't buy things that are going to drop 50% of their value in a few years, I buy stuff that is appreciating or has already leveled out.

Genius? Nah. I was always gifted and talented though, and in my free time I'm working on projects, so I'm pretty much ahead in terms of value in all my toys.

I don't see any folks making that mistake. At all. In fact I don't know any people my age with a new car. They all have older stuff.
