It's what I do. My girlfriend lives 72 miles away so I picked up a 5spd insight for $3k. I have taken it on multiple road trips, and I save about $150 a month in gas. Plus, it won't ever rust out cuz aluminum. I love this car, my record is 84.1mpg! Here's a pic:
