I think you're right. Corvettes make me think of old people. They buy this car because it's a great performance bargain... but 95% of them putz around and occasionally do a burnout. It doesn't actually get driven competitively. I feel that way about most supercars... but when vettes are so common; you see this

But it isn't all perfect. Sitting to each side of the TFT rev counter are gauges that look terribly cheap. I'd like to wheel to be a little smaller and thicker, possibly Alcantara covered. Also, the paddles for the rev match feature feel plasticky.

Hey Torch, you using sketchup for the graphics here? Like them better than the iPad drawings for sure.

You just reiterated the problem with our current thinking/automotive lineup. Why do you associate econobox with small, and luxury with large? Why is size related to this? I have not said anything about size. My point was that if automakers ONLY made premium vehicles, of all sizes, it would be better. I'd much

Maybe because modeling is all based on physical attributes and appearance, not intelligence, creativity, or any of the other myriad of things that most other jobs require?

Cuz GM is fucking retarded. They make such poor decisions they went bankrupt, remember?

Wow. If they made that, and made it Cobalt SS fast, I would be interested.

Cool. I have a similar suspension. H7R race springs, bilstein sports, camber plates, fresh bushings everywhere; still don't find it dynamic. Also, not sure how you have upper control arms in the front. Seems like your suspension is just like mine, at least from this photo:

Daniel Simon already solved this issue: Driver capsule that rotates:

You're doing it wrong, more like this:

I never said otherwise. I have a 2000 Golf with 210k miles on it. Runs fine. No leaks. Even the A/C works. I'm just saying nobody really wants an econobox... it'd be cooler if you could just be a wonderful chassis that you could upgrade/swap parts out as you go. Make the car last forever.

3400lbs. Your car might be lighter but it doesn't change the suspension design which originated with the 1983 Audi 100. I can't imagine the suspension on yours is much different. I could be wrong though.

You gotta shop around. 3 places wanted $800 for the center cat on my old SVX. I eventually bought a complete stainless exhaust system that included a stainless resonator to replace that cat for $750.

Exception is the UrS4/S6 with the overbuilt WRC battle tested AAN 5 cylinder 20v Turbo. Fucking awesome engine. Dead nuts reliable. Unlimited potential.

You lost all credibility when you said great driving dynamics. My S6 is lowered and I still think that the suspension blows. Fresh H&Rs and Bilstein sports; the suspension design is ancient and with the engine hanging in front of the axle it is NOT a dynamic drive. It does have a lot of grip though.

I purchased my 95 S6 in 2009 with 100k on it. I now have about 150k on it. In that time, the only thing I >needed< to replace was a high pressure coolant return hose ($12 from a hose shop), the coils ($250 for 2.0T conversion kit), and a HVAC servo ($75). I've also upgraded and refreshed the suspension ($1200),

Really wishing some violent extremists would fly airplanes into the WBC, or blow them up. Seriously. I would not shed a tear and it'd be killing two birds with one stone.

That sucks. :/

That's simply not true. I'm a product designer and spec materials and we don't have an issue with plastics falling apart or breaking down at all.
