How often do you bust out that event reference in conversation? “This sales pitch reminds me of the Ljubljana Marshes hot air balloon crash of 2012, in that it is full of hot air and will almost certainly lead to six deaths.”

How dare deadspin publish a post by Mr. Petchesky, with his slavic sounding name, on this, the 5th anniversary of the Ljubljana Marshes hot air balloon crash in Slovenia. I am aghast at the insensitivity.
I’m more of a 1/10 kinda commenter.
I’m starting to think that Personal Accountability needs to be a freshman level course at these football schools, rather than an elective senior seminar class.
Competing for the stupidest nit-picky comment of today. Guilt is a aspect of criminal law. The civil jury in the swift case found the DJ liable for assault (which is a crime when brought by the state).
Just because you guys are in the pocket of BIG FUCKING ON THE SUBWAY doesn’t mean you should criticize other websites for how they make money.
A lot of people, whether they really believed it or not, were saying during the election “Oh, he’s just playing this up for votes. He’s not REALLY like this and he’ll tone it down once he takes office.”
Premeditation does not mean that the person planned for a week or even a day. Premeditation can occur for a split second before the murder. I think it might be second degree because you can’t prove that he intended to kill, just that he acted with depraved indifference to life. People are also confusing heat of…
The prosecutor is the one who decides what the charge should be, and he may not agree with the killing being premeditated, and so was unwilling to charge 1st degree murder. Or, more to the point, he did not think he could prove in court it was premeditated, which is what really matters.

If they can prove the guy was sitting at home last week, thinking about how he was going to drive into a crowd to kill people, they can get first degree. If all they can prove is the guy was in his car and decided in the heat of the moment that he was…
No, you’re thinking of manslaughter charges.
Pretty significant typo in paragraph two. The WaPo article references a $2 MILLION profit not a $2.00 profit . . .
I challenge this cop to find some ProActive.
“ Despite predicting a $2.1 million loss in the four months after it opened, The Trump International Hotel made a $1.97 profit”
Either there’s a missing ‘million’ after $1.97 or this story is funnier than it first appears.

Bitcoin is used to buy drugs by people too antisocial to cultivate a relationship with their local weed dealer.
Right? At least, can we can we make it to the new Thor movie?
Damn. I wanted to live long enough to see that next Avengers movie.
Always avoid eye contact.
This sure looks like a slush fund to me. As a not-for-profit, don’t they have to make some of their financials public? looking at the line items there might be interesting.
