you can buy a CD and rip it to your computer for personal use as long as you don't distribute it to other people. I would assume the same principal applies to DVDs and Blurays.

I used this Motorola Backflip from Aug 2010 - Oct 2012 before upgrading to a much better Galaxy S III (still in almost perfect condition under the OtterBox).
