Counterpoint: nowadays with continuous patching, you’re still getting an unfinished product even if you buy it AFTER the official release date

They are not doing us a favor by offering a Battle Pass that doesn’t expire, even though it “only has Cosmetics.” They... know we can remember the previous Batman games that just had costumes in them, right? Or the three Spider-Man games? Not gonna cheer you on for selling “just cosmetics” instead of including them as

It’s a shame we're inevitably going to lose Rocksteady because of this obvious flop.

Don’t care, not buying a full price game with micro's anymore. Fuck what the industry has become.

They did the never-expire Battlepasses for Halo Infinite and depending on how it’s done, it’s not necessarily a good thing. The amount of time to clear a battlepass for that game was pretty high for my kid (they stopped bothering after realizing they were playing not for fun but to get their quota each day - a

No thanks. If this ends up on gamepass, then I'll give it a go.

I do love the low commitment aspect. I believe they’ve crafted an experience that will demand pretty much 0 hours of my time. :P

Honestly this is why IMO companies should be required to open source the server stuff and allow fans or the public to run their own servers when the company decides to shut them down. I mean I understand why the do it, but at least give the fans the option to keep them going if they want to.  We are at a time where

It’s too bad there’s nowhere else on the Internet to find 3DS and Wii U games.

I love that Nintendo is still decades behind on online infrastructure and fabulously wealthy form their inane policies. And yet these services which are treasured by fans that Nintendo loathes(adults without kids who play their games) are “too much” to keep going.

If you really lean into the road trip aspect, the game is beautiful. Being asked to choose a photo at the end of the game is genuinely heartbreaking when you realize what it means. The complicated relationship between Noctis and his father really hits home at the end as well.

I hope that typing that made you feel dirty. Eww.

hell yeah this is what i was waiting for, thank you

“We are experimenting with AI” = “We are testing the waters to see how many artists we can reasonably fire”

I’d like to hear their definition of “A.I.” when it’s plagiarism tech. Their lord and savior, ChatGPT’s CEO admitted they wouldn’t function without taking others’ creative work without consent, and even tried to call human creativity “obsolete.

I remember when Square and Enix were different companies. When you saw one of those logos, you knew youd be getting a quality experience. I miss that.

AI defenders insert your terrible takes here

I didn’t have a whole lot of interest for this game like this beforehand, but it’s a definite hard no now.

Screw you Square-Enix. I thought this game looked interesting enough to at least try it out, but I will NOT try it so long as AI generated art is anywhere in the game in any capacity.

I mean, they went full-bore on NFTs last year, so makes sense that they’d follow all the techbros onto the next grift.
