Given how fucking desperate rich old Japanese men are about the plunging birth rate of slaves for them to profit off of, I can definitely see the confusion.

My girlfriend and I wanted to play this, but we’re on the fence about getting Japanese citizens pregnant. We have a lot on our plate already.

Maybe Japanese women are tired of giving up their careers and life outside the Japanese home...or maybe it is just too expensive to have children now. But no, those are not the real reasons, it is because they haven’t played the right video game.

I found that NieR Automata was great in spite of its random cheeseball elements of 2B’s design. Had the story or concepts been lesser, it would have definitely been an obvious excuse for some designer to indulge in their French maid fetish. 

I thought Tifa was wearing shorts until over halfway into the game when a cutscene with a more detailed character model was more clearly wearing a skirt.

Pointing to FF7 as the start of that even in video games is odd. 

Beyond that, even within videogames they were sexualized long before FF7. I can think of more than a few PC and Sega/SNES games with sexualized skirts that predate FF7.

Honestly when it comes to Resident Evil and skirts the only thing I want to know is why Jill was wearing a mini skirt and halter top in the original RE3. I’m against the ‘button to reveal things’ mechanic. Players will end up playing half the game in a visually dull detective mode or will continually spam the button every time they enter a room.
