I’m an Alabama resident and some of the comments on al.com right now are disgusting. They will vote Moore for one reason and one reason only - prolife. See, those babies need to be born so Moore and his ilk can rape them later.

Sweet lord that’s so wildly accurate. I drove through Alabama with my wife a few months ago and I said they should change the state motto to ‘Hope you like feral dogs’.

They didn’t take a stance on Trump because they were so afraid of his base turning on them. The base has already lost steam according to the Virginia election, and they never wanted Moore to be the candidate anyway. Coming out against him to allows them to tell people to vote Republican so they can replace the seat

Because in that intervening year, numerous powerful men have been destroyed by allegations of sexual abuse. It feels increasingly like standing up for harassers and rapists is no longer a viable stance, and I’m encouraged by it.

I think he’s very smart to not be doing anything overt on the accusations. He’s a lawyer, and a good one at that. I think he knows that if he gives Roy Moore enough rope, he’ll likely hang himself with it. It seems to be working, according to the latest Republican poll, Jones is leading by 12 points. https://www.politi

Except that that didn’t really work for Hillary, unfortunately.

Even now, you’d REALLY have to try to get banned from a mall. A mall! To paraphrase a tweet I saw from someone far wittier than I am, not even the dude who carries china dolls in a satchel and shouts about how the CIA can’t have them gets banned from a mall.

As a Canadian (and never having been to Alabama) I always viewed it as full of fat, white, racist, gun toting mouth breathers primarily. Am I misjudging the “good people” of this state?

The (sort of) optimist in me wants to say that under age sexual assault may be the line that even shit heads can’t stand behind en masse (the qualifiers in this sentence make me sad). The realist in me says because they have less to gain from putting Moore in than they did with Trump, and can probably find another

Yep. The political answer when your opponent is stepping on his own dick is to remove yourself from EVERYTHING and shut up. You don’t want to give them anything to respond to.

The Alabama senate race reminds me of nothing so much as Claire McCaskill’s last run for Missouri senate, where she just shut the fuck up and let Todd “Legitimate Rape” Akin hoist himself on his own very very stupid petard. It is entirely possible the dems could flip this seat if there’s a write-in.

I know, like he must have been literally coming up to every girl under the age of 16 and hitting on her. And you know what likely did it too, right? Parents complaining about Mr. I Always Ask the Mom’s Permission Before Raping Her Daughter, because no way some security guard made an executive decision on this. A bunch

Speaking from personal experience, if you’re driving from Miami to New Orleans, it’s hard to avoid it.

Who gets banned from a mall in Alabama in the 80's? It’s not like today where people are a little more paranoid and reactive. People were actually a bit more trusting. You’d have to go above and beyond if it had nothing to do with vandalism or shoplifting.

Some of us have to go through it to get to New Orleans.

My gut is its more like Alabamans would rather have a pedophile in the office then a democrat.

This is all so great! Finally women are being believed.

Yet he’ll still probably get elected. Trump really set the stage on being elected to public office and sexually assaulting and harassing women.

For a story that happened 30+ years ago, I’m shocked at how much evidence there is for this. Like being banned from the mall for creeping on teenage girls. Plus, on top of that, it’s clear that Roy Moore is just lying out of his ass-mouth, saying he never met one of the accusers, was never at that restaurant, while

He doesn’t believe the allegations against Moore, claiming there are holes in the accusers’ stories.
