Why accuse of lying?

It isn’t common, but it does happen. Usually around 2-4% of a study sample group of rape accusations will be false. Plus, the high profile ones (Hofstra 2009, Duke LaCrosse 2006, Brian Banks in 2002, Tawana Brawley in 1987, etc. get massive media coverage thereby inflating the impression that it is more prevalent.)
