I think you need to put those Jalop credentials to work and talk to Nissan’s head of design in person to find out and correct this travesty.
Path-etic
To be clear, I personally think it’s, in some ways, a bit lame. But that’s just the hardcore off-roader in me. The logical person in me (who, surprisingly, made an appearance for this article) says “It fills a hole in the lineup, it looks good, it’ll sell, people don’t go off-road anyway, etc etc.”
It’s a curse.
Another Boisean here- we were absolutely spoiled when Kellen Moore was at Boise State.
I’d pay 2 grand for a iPhone that uses the same charging port as my iPad pro and MacBook pro.
its gotta lotta spunk, for one thing.
If they have no idea how to interact with women in a professional setting beyond “make a pass” or “compliment her looks”, then yeah, they probably shouldn’t be interacting with other people until they take some basic interpersonal skills training.
This is true, but reporting to HR is usually a hoop you have to jump through to sue them later.
This.
So because men cannot grasp kindergarten levels of social behavior it’s women’s fault? Maybe they should be sent back there and relearn socially acceptable behavior.
The article misses the point a bit. Yes, men and women both know what harassment is. I suspect what explains this statistic is that a lot of men have the impression that there is a chance that their innocent behavior will be miscategorized. I believe this to be an overreaction, but I imagine that this is the reasoning…
I think your example gets to one of the problems some men (I don’t count myself among them, I’m just following a logical thoughtline) are having. According to the study, when presented with examples of harassment, most men are able to identify things that are actual harassment. But what they’re worried about is that…
You only know, until you say it to the wrong person. Then it’s a smear campaign to ruin your life. Some people aren’t reasonable - on both sides of the sexual divide.
A CEO has to at least report to shareholders and a board of directors. A Union Boss has no real oversight.
Yeah and the thing too about dues at least when I was in the UAW, they automatically come out of your check, you don’t even get the autonomy to withhold dues from the union to protest this stuff. If you do end up with back dues (like your paychecks start at a weird time and you miss a payment to them) they’ll work…
Oh, more than one, I’m sure. Probably of the pair of them “auditioning” models.
So, how’s this G/O Media drama going to shake out for Jalopnik? Any changes, good or bad, on the immediate horizon?
Sounds like they lost Michelle Woo, since she was the Parenting Editor for Offspring
