Came here to say this. Both my 2016 Honda Pilot and 2017 Ford Fusion Sport have remote start on the key fob. To prevent theft, the car is A: locked, and B: in a mode where it won’t drive unless the key is present and you physically press the start button. Then and ONLY then can the car move.
