Uhh, we have no plans to exit the SEGMENT does not at all mean they don’t plan to end the Edge, but rather modify the Explorer to add a 5-seater option. Sad, it really is a great car in ST trim.

Its actually for this reason that I disagree completely. Americans are moving from the “I want it NOW” perspective into a “I can wait 2 days if it shows up to my doorstep” that is central to the MASSIVE success that is Amazon. I am sure there are tons of people who THINK they NEED a car NOW, but the reality is that…
I got one as a rental car. It is literally the exact opposite of what a rental car should be. Room for 2 with luggage, definitely not throwing luggage in the back with rain, etc. I found it pretty funny that they were relying on those for rentals, especially when I paid for a mid-size sedan.
The best way I’ve found to “negotiate” a car down is to allow the F&I guy to run your credit and see what he can do. Walking in with cash or pre-approval is one ticket to less margin for them, and they tend to turn off quickly if you buy that way. Once you take the credit offer (whatever it is, as long as there isn’t…
Configurator says no dice. Damn might have to wrap it or something.
Does it come in passion red? If so, this may very well be my next car, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Completely agree. Responded separately, but being in the industry JUST enough to see this crap on the hardware and especially on the SOFTWARE side (requiring the buyer to bring it in CONSTANTLY) is still most definitely a thing.
I have to respectfully disagree with the first model year issue. As an engineer that walks in car plants, the amount of “retooling” or speeding up/down and stoppage in the first year of a car is pretty intense, and brand new powerplants or drivetrain components become very hard to find parts for or replace since all…
Phew, my XC60 is getting nervous... maybe when SQ8 it will be in my near future? I wish...
The exposed carbon fiber wheels are also part of the Carbon Fiber Track pack. They come from the same company that manufactures the Ford GT’s wheels. At 20 inches wide, they come wrapped in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
What about the Volvo V-series? Not old enough to fit the wagon crave but also budget? I love the new interiors. Haven’t personally shopped them yet because my 10 XC60 and 13 XC90 are running great.
I think your math is off. In order to make more than the loan, the interest rate of your savings account would have to be higher than the interest rate... Unless I am missing something?
Interesting that there are ZERO volvo’s on this list, and yet I know with all of the crash engineering and testing that they do I’d much rather be in one over ANY of the cars listed... The crash avoidance system Intellisafe notwithstanding. (I’m not thrilled about that beng a “thing” yet... call me old fashioned.)
Sour you didn’t get an invite huh?
x2
He said 10 YEARS not 10 months...
As someone who struggled early in “adult life” to be taken seriously on income and bank accounts alone (no credit to my name except a cell bill), I am glad to see something like this come around!
Because being the low price means you get ALL the orders, and fulfillment of those orders is a thing...
Here in about 2 more interest rate increases, its going to be much harder to sell that tactic though!
You mean FUNDING a significant percentage of all of his companies? Yeah good luck over there :).
