“That BITSHhhhh”
“That BITSHhhhh”
I only ever played VF 1 & 2, but they’ve definitely stuck with me as a cornerstone of my perception of video games.
I had to unfollow a lot of artists I admired the work of when they started dipping into this.
That was one of the coolest extra features in games I can think of. It was a photo game, a collectathon, a gallery viewer. And a semi-secret!
Well, better you than me! I do love the graphics, battle system and music. But the writing and dungeon design were enough to make me stop very quickly.
So does this mean X will continue getting updates after X Offline is finished? I don’t really know as far as adaptations go how X Offline is gonna play out. Where do they decide to stop the story?
“Convinced”? Nope. But “strong suspicion”? Yup!
I’ve got the Megaman art book “MM25" which I recommend to anyone who likes Megaman, Capcom or video game art books. It’s got a lot of commentary about how the designers slept in the offices in order to get work done. They look back on it with fondness but I was thinking “yeesh!” at the whole thing.
Though to anyone…
To add, it was specifically Osamu Tezuka and Shotaro Ishinomori who Mizuki references in his comic regarding sleep deprivation.
Regarding simplistic art styles: It’s true Tezuka and Ishinomori’s art is relatively simplistic. It’s probably no coincidence that Mizuki is known for much more realistically rendered…
The build up to the baby with the panicked radio and the umbilical cord was great. I think the best thing about the baby’s reveal is that it’s not a cutscene. A lot of big monsters and certainly bosses (“boss” in this case) tend to be introduced by the game skidding to an ass-grinding halt in order for the monster to…
“I do not believe that you are a racist”
“You get up here and you call him a racist without basis?!”
I got the first on Switch a few days before Christmas and really enjoyed it. I still haven’t finished it, but it is very charming. I especially love the book! I honestly think the magic book is my favourite aspect of the game just because it’s so detailed!
I know the 2nd is rather different by all accounts. I’m eager…
The first play through I watched of this (I’m never playing it personally!) the first time the hiding places were noticed and used were with the bed and nearby locker. I feel like that’s the only place they should be.
Seems odd to omit showing his face in the trailer. I feel like without seeing his nose he’s just a generic guy with a mechanical arm.
I mean I know it’s a teaser, but at least show his profile in shadow or something!
eEErARGHHHhahaha! DaaAA--DAAAaaa!!
Couldn’t it have just let you have a unique Loftwing or something? Jeez...
It’s interesting to see the series’ cheesy characterisations change with the times. It’s all modern cheese now, and I like my slightly anime-esque (cos of the art work, I suppose) dated cheese. At least it stands out compared to modern stuff.
For ‘survival horror lead’ Leon is a cool concept for a protagonist. I found…
Luckily my friends know anime, so we can use a whole bunch of shorthands to get an idea of the anime. We might refer to ‘80s seinen stuff’ or ‘90s catgirl’ etc.
With laymen, I’d just say Japanese cartoons.
I bought em and I’ll be saving The Girl Who Stand Behind for last. But basically, the gameplay is very, very dated. I’ve barely gotten anywhere, so take my opinion with salt. But so far it seems to be exhausting dialogue until an option is highlighted yellow to let you know there’s a new lead in order to progress.…
I downloaded these yesterday. I’ve barely touched it, but The Missing Heir so far is very charming. I love the re-done music!
I’m not far but I’m currently wondering how much thought I have to put into playing it, or whether it really is just exhausting everything possible on screen. Also, £50 for both is a rip.
Still,…
