I see a lot of young-looking human fanart of AC characters but I certainly don’t see the dodos that way. I see Wilbur as a middle aged guy who thinks he’s cool for being a pilot. Grey sideburns, beer belly. Orville similar but less into his role.

Ah! I see yeah they do feel a tad tacked on. I don’t remember if they appeared parasitic but it’d make more sense if they were. The Goht one was especially noticeable though at how random that seemed.

For the most part I prefer it by a great deal. Looks cleaner, more vibrant and the extra details are nice.
That last one is a shame though because they’ve reduced the character’s expressiveness.
