Oh, I totally understood that, it just seemed a bit strange, even if it was the style they were going for.

Poster looks like it's supposed to look like a poster that a small, independent pop punk band might make. It's kinda neat in a DIY kind of way.
I haven't read the comics yet (don't even know if they're out, haven't kept up with that), but don't they make Korrasami even more explicitly romantic, to the point where it's impossible to deny?
I can't wait for the young kids growing up with this show in about 15 years to be posting all over social media about the things they never caught in Steven Universe as a kid.
I kinda wanna see someone draw Tuxedo Pearl as Eurythmics-era Annie Lennox now.
inb4 inflation in the Steven Universe world is higher than Steven Tyler in the '70s
"Many of you have been wondering with your senpai has gone in this time of extreme weirdness."
Never change, Ronaldo.
Mr. Greg's Wild Ride
I'll admit I was a bit put off by how much all those background characters looked the same, since the Crewniverse is usually good at making the background characters pretty distinct, but it still worked in a very Old Hollywood way, and it's only a minor nitpick in the scheme of such a grand episode.
Frybo should have gotten his own emotionally complex musical number, to complement the burger jingle.
"All I wanna do / is see you turn into / a french fry eater (A FRENCH FRY EA-TER!)"
Judging by what "Steven's Birthday" (and "Too Many Birthdays" much earlier) seemed to say about Steven's physical growth, I imagine that the more and more Steven demonstrates his increasing maturity, the more he's gonna begin to resemble the mature young man he's becoming.
See now, what I'm wondering is where this is going with the ten million dollars. Could this be the setup for Mr. Universe launching his comeback tour? Surely if he's now getting so much in royalties, there's gotta be a whole new audience out there for him who discovered him in some way. Maybe he's like the Big Star…
That line makes so much more sense now that I think about it in the context of Greg's career.
Living on takeout and snacks would explain why Steven is a pudgy lil muffin himself.
Maybe his art career took off in this universe, when a nice Jewish business man promoted his work, causing him to see the error in his viewpoint. Seems like something that would happen in a world like Steven Universe's.
"Less-than-licit" is my new favorite euphemism.
Now I want a My Name is Earl parody with Pearl.
That episode still has my favorite Benny Hill parody of all time.
*slow clap*
HOLY CRAP. That's actually 100% correct. H2-oh my gosh. *mind goes pscheewwwwww*
But seriously, that's actually a brilliant detail.
