They havent widened shit! Look at the gif- if your ass doesn’t fit in the middle seat, its not because of the width of the pad, its because you don’t fit between the armrests. The armrests don’t widen in that image.

So the seat gets “wider” but the arm rests and adjacent seats don’t move at all .... so the seat isn’t actually wider ...
