Jalopnik should try to engage him to write regular posts about his expedition.

Would be far more interesting if he bought and sold a new car every time he had to ship it, and flew instead. You could easily do it for the same cost and it’s probably the same amount of headache as shipping. Then he at least gets to try new cars along the way!

Well, I’m sure I’m not a normal case. I used to work at the dealer and I do qualify for supplier pricing (found that out after the fact). So they offered me supplier pricing, and I said I wanted a little less than that. I think they said, “How about $150.” And I said, “Cool.”

I dunno, that lip on the Model 3 makes it more like...

Bless your heart. The Tesla 3 is the Jan Brady of cars.

This is something I don’t understand. Yes, you can get a Bolt or a Leaf right now, but you know what you can’t get? A decent charging infrastructure in large parts of the country. I like in Houston but travel back to Louisiana to visit family. You know which companies have chargers on the route between the two? Tesla.

1st Gear:

“Why is she staring at congestion!”

I think so but you’ll have to gansta lean to the left and learn to shift with your belly button.

He may well be a fantastic driver, but that character was awful, and didn’t bring anything to the show. Maybe they could have reformed him rather than getting rid of him, but either way, I’m not too sad to see him go.

On the other, I wasn’t thrilled with how Skinner’s character was portrayed. His hatred of import cars and undying love for fat-displacement V8s felt very heavy-handed and stereotypical. Perhaps this was funny for a non-American audience, but for me it felt tired and stale. Like, “Oh, look, here’s a twangy American

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that got old quick.

They should have just changed the character to be what he was, a talented driver who could get a good consistent track time and provide helpful feedback on the actual performance of the car.

I think I speak for all of us when I say thank fucking god.

I don’t know much about the guy, but I imagine he is a decent chum who isn’t anywhere remotely as annoying as the character on Top Gear. Is it to much to just have an honest race car driver just be himself? Maybe play up a few parts of his personality or something, but sheesh, we don’t need the stupid over the top

This is a good COTD

Comment Of The Day: It’s Always The Quiet Ones Edition

They are, but...let’s just say they rely on crashing into things and don’t turn very well.

Why aren’t the people who make the Roomba working on a car? Driverless technology that cleans the streets as you go.

The image that wouldn’t publish was a gal washing a Beetle. But you are right.
