I live in central jersey, I still see them all over . My brother is on his 3rd explorer, a 94 eddie bauer with a 4" lift, 33" BFG A/T's, and a M50D 5spd swap. I also have a friend with a 97XLT with a 1.5" lift on 31's, and another friend with a 00 XLT V8.

You still see these things EVERYWHERE. The first and second gen explorers ( both ranger based SUV's) are generally tough as nails. The explorer is also what made the SUV popular back in the 90's.
