Same with my cat. She has also learned that “Kismet” said in a certain cadence means “there is a big scary bug in the bathroom and I need you to come and kill it.” Comes running every time.

I believe the same thing goes for dogs. My dog doesn’t know it’s her Name, but she knows it as the sound that means “attention please”.

I don’t know about that, my cat has a wide variety of meows and various ways of making small sounds. If I mimic those we seem to be having a convo of sorts.
