Yeah, this was the first time I’ve ever wanted to buy a Final Fantasy figurine.
Yeah, this was the first time I’ve ever wanted to buy a Final Fantasy figurine.
But the argument you’re presenting is broken because, like you say, you’d be refusing to do something for completely arbitrary reasons.
But in my head it’s as simple as this:
Stopped reading at “lawl”.
People are straight-up calling me an idiot and telling me that I’m deprived of logic and ridiculing me because I don’t like playing on a PC and, regardless of their best efforts, I’m still sticking to the notion that I know what’s best for me.
First off. If you’re looking for logic in why one thing feels better to me than the other, then you’re doing this wrong. That’s like trying to find logic in why I like the taste of a burrito more than I like the taste of a hamburger.
Okay. Metaphors are helpful.
But I don’t need to install Steam on my refrigerator because I got the 16-year old CD.
You’re still completely glossing over the fact that I don’t like to play on a PC and I don’t want to play on a PC. I quit PC gaming almost two decades ago because I got into a gaming platform that I liked more.
Because I got super nostalgic about the original. Which I still own. And it still runs on my PC.
The original still runs on my PC.
THANK YOU.
Hi-five o/
Or I could just not get a Steam account and not buy the game again, but instead pop the disc that I already own and play the game without any extra hassle.
Giving a shit about trophies stops being silly when you’ve attained over 3000 of them over the course of 10 years. At that point you kinda like the fact that they’re all in one place.
I can play AoE without steam. I bought the game on CD 16 years ago and my PC can still run it.
Okay. Let me be super clear here. I am not going back to PC gaming. I have no incentive to do that.
I’m sorry for any inconvenience my post may have caused you.
I assure you, my intent was not to insult anyone.
Learning the ins and outs of a new gaming ecosystem, building a game library, finding people to play with... Yeah, it’s a whole lot more complicated than just choosing a name and a password.
That’s not even a little bit what I’m saying.
Sorry, I don’t want to go through the whole ordeal of getting a Steam account. I quit PC gaming a long time ago and don’t mean to go back.
