It's funny how if she were a guy accused of far more serious crimes, we'd have people piously talking about how she probably had been abused before and that's why she did whatever she did.

The Allen/Farrow case has inconsistencies in it and involve a figure who people already think is odd sexually.
You don't think a documented history of lying for attention might be relevant to a case where she might have been lying for attention? When a person poses on the internet pretending to be a cancer survivor they lose a lot of trustworthiness in my book.
I mean someone could pick insane quotes off of Jezebel, too, so I'm going to form an opinion based on that. Not so long ago in conversation with me someone dismissed the suffering for all victims of violence who are not women that have been raped as unimportant. People of all stripes say crazy things.
Because when a company finally decides to do the right thin we need to bitterly attack them.
I'm not sure I get this. Bimbo-fetishism (or even just internalizing a beauty ideal) I can follow but Breatharianism seems like a really stupid cult.
It has the taste of human flesh now... and human flesh is delicious!
It's still censorship.
I'm not sure what kind of easily lead idiots this is trying to sway. Can I make one that says "Races Don't Have Rights" and use it to deflect criticism about racist policies?
[Men] need to be told to police their behavior.
Swords?
Because Jezebel and Tumblr provide endless reinforcement of various canned beliefs, like Fox and reddit. People who start thinking in those terms just give canned responses without thought or context. There's really no helping them, they're more like slot machines now than women.
You would like if a minority of men represent most rapists? That's already true.
Have you ever seen a minefield with a sign that says "please don't explode when stepped on"? No the signs say "keep out: minefield" and the validity of that warning doesn't mean we've stopped getting rid of landmines.
No one thought to move her off the sidewalk?
To paraphrase another Jezebel author:
Jezebel usually makes me feel very anti-feminist whenever I read an article about gender (sex and sexuality mean little to me). Fortunately I know feminists out in the real world so I'm content to critique rather than rant.
I'd calculate a CI before any excitement but, yes, a shift of about a full point is certainly interesting. It is not "much lower". Their self esteem didn't collapse or anything.
You realize you're mocking a central pillar of feminism, right? Minor things can and do impact how people feel about themselves. If you want to ignore how society impacts people in their moment-to-moment lives you can watch the last thirty years of civil right go right down the drain.
(THE GOAL, I say. THE GOAL, you echo)
