Cool, you’re decidedly in the minority however. That game sold gangbusters and did very good numbers with critics and fans alike. Especially the Spider-Man fans I know, of which I am one.

It gets so much better with every season. You’re missing out.

No one used the word “real” but if we want to talk about what is the real AC, Patrice Desilets and the earlier games are exhibit A. These newer ones are just borrowing the AC name because Ubi wouldn’t greenlight them otherwise

Right.  the game seems to be doubling down on what I think the first game should have done better, which is questioning the violence and the idea that “the ends justify the means” as well as gamer’s own complicity in said violence.

Not even if the game itself is amazing? There are plenty of games that I played over the years that had terrible plots, but were still incredible games.

Read the leaks and I’m really happy that it sounds like they’re taking the story in a VERY unexpected direction. Was worried this game would be too similar to the first and I’m no longer concerned about that.

I don’t even remotely understand this mindset of “These on-paper plot points that are completely devoid of context look bad to me, so I will not enjoy this story.”

This literally is only a talking point about this game because it’s a remake, it’s like saying that you shouldn’t buy Trails of Cold Steel because it’s part of a larger story. There’s a point to be made about the game not needing to be only Midgar, for sure, but…

“Spoiler” culture is silly. The trailer was cool. Can’t wait to play but it looks like Amazon won’t be able to ship it to me until some indefinite time after release.
