I hear that complaint a lot but I never felt that way. I mean, technically, any “work” you do in a video game ends up meaning nothing. As long as I’m having a decent time while playing, I’m good.

I know I’m in the minority but I didn’t mind the ending. I respected that they tried something different.
Early word on the platforming in Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is pretty good. It releases tomorrow.
The higher the percentage, the farther they fly when hit. Good players can still manage to stay alive even with a higher percentage if they’re dodging/defending well enough.
I’m still hoping for Everybody’s Golf one of these months.
::shrug:: I forgave it.
It’s a little cumbersome to use but it still comes in handy on certain games.
The new voiceovers do indeed suck, but the game is still fun so I don’t regret downloading it. I can always watch the original opening on youtube.
It’s not that complicated. Sony has just had better exclusives this gen.
I’m with you on Arkham Knight. The batmobile complaints in particular are so, so exaggerated. It wasn’t THAT bad. It’s not like you even had to use it to get around the city.
How much is there to spoil, really? I guess there are perhaps a handful of new stages or items we haven’t seen yet, but other than that, I can’t think of much that would be so upsetting. Maybe some cinematic or battle from World of Light but I feel like that would still be A.) easy to avoid online and B) pretty…
I agree it’s not really a spoiler, but even if it was, saying “you know the West was tamed, right?” is a pretty weak defense. No shit it was tamed. We’re not talking about the fate of a specific era of history, we’re talking about the fate of a specific character during that period.
I guess my “main” games right now are Red Dead Redemption 2 and Hitman 2.
I wasn’t implying they don’t have decent games. I was implying their focus should be on games instead of a bunch of features people don’t care as much about.
Pretty sure it’s new levels but don’t quote me on that.
And yet, none of that will put them on top without decent games.
It’s a global market nowadays. I guarantee Microsoft wants to do more than “relatively well”.
Despite all that, they’re still on top like you say. And we don’t know what their plans are over the next few years. So to assume they’re in a tough position at this point in time seems a bit premature. Let’s wait and see.
Fact is, Kotaku doesn’t care about straightforward game details like that so much as they do about finding a deeper meaning behind the games and relating it to life experiences. It’s just their thing. I agree it’s a little annoying when all you want to read about is how a game’s features fare and not sort through an…
I’d say Microsoft is the one with the uphill battle.
