It’s weird to me how many defenders the original movie has. People go to the mat for the strangest causes.

Don’t get me wrong, it made me queasy too. The film was funny enough to temper that and then I saw pics from the set of them all covered in fake blood horsing around and I just couldn’t be mad.

It was brutal but I feel like JJL was having fun rolling around with the boys. The film is hardly a serious examination of violence. I don’t think QT has that in him.

A lot of people are tired of seeing minorities subjugated on TV for our entertainment especially in this age.

This is a good point but like David Simon said, he can’t in good conscious ask women that he employs to work in a state that could put them in jail if they get pregnant and don’t make the right “choice.”

I like it but it’s flawed by a weak lead performance IMO. Effects are stellar and the script is damn good. Maybe I shouldn’t call it mediocre now that I think about it.

The movie was mediocre but that dragon was amazing and still looks great.

Ned’s beheading for me

I liked it. This story HATES monarchs and doesn’t believe in heroes or benevolent dictators. D&D aren’t as elegant as Martin will be about the ending but it worked for me. Felt like the Red Wedding and Ned’s beheading all at once. But I understand that many folks will disagree. People who get MAD!!!!! at entertainment…

He has so many great characters but that’s my favorite. I love it when he gets coaxed into free styling and he acts surprised when he makes a rhyme.
