Power is 133bhp/litre for Speciale and 132 for 918. 918 has only 389lb-FT. I think Ferrari really went all out on the 458's engine as it was the last n/a V8 for them. The 918 V8 may sound much better but the 458 V8 is just a monster.

Agreed. That is a huge part of the GM LS V-8s appeal. It may be bigger than other V-8s in terms of cylinder displacement but is typically smaller in overall physical size and weight.
The viper ACR-X ran bridge-to-gantry in 7:03, and it's still only $110,000. I'd bet most of that gain is race tires though, and it likely wouldn't get too far into the 6 minute range even with another $90k in improvements. I couldn't find a time for the Z06 GT3, but it has competition aero which wouldn't help as much…
Surprise robot hands.
I'll give you that.
So this may be a record for the highest displacement specific torque produced by any naturally aspirated production gasoline automobile engine ever. Either way, it's damn impressive.
half the displacement and (more than) twice the price!
Incredible reactions on these drivers - this one is insane due to how narrow it is.
"environmentalists" in the popular sense of the word, are political activists more interested in a social agenda, than actual scientific method, and engineering application.
The allergy one makes me remember yet again why my brother and sister-in-law have a fondness for Disney.
I hope that poor boy was okay after his parents insisted on him eating that food even though it had gluten in it.
Before I start, let me say I was a server for a decade, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for all service employees. But this story has become legendary in my family, so: Mr. Tigger and I moved for his job from the East Bay Area in CA to Austin, Texas. On our first date night after moving, we went out to…
This program basically improves the lives of everybody(less traffic, smog) at a social cost that should be fairly widely distributed. It certainly isn't most efficient and will cause some wasted resources, but the debate should be about is the improvement worth the cost, not is the cost more than zero. Government…
And this jerk thought that he could flee from the police and not be caught? They had his car and knew who he was. I hope they throw the book at him. Besides driving recklessly and killing 2 people, he makes all car enthusiasts look bad. It is one thing to have fun with a car and bang off a few gears out on an open…
I think (I don't know of course) that the camera truck was letting the other truck go first because it would make a difficult left for the camera truck to get around the other truck. You let that truck go first to make your own left easier.
Was that a high-beam flash or just the sun reflecting off the windscreen?
It was very voluminous, but not especially heavy, compared to the max takeoff weight of current aircraft. According to this site, it actually weighed less than 500,000 lbs, before buoyancy. http://www.airships.net/hindenburg/des…
Rowan Atkinson destroys his F1 on a public road he is a hoonigan hero. Everyone else is garbage.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Said it before, I'll say it again. I dont care about two people racing on an empty road and killing themselves. As soon as you are doing it around other people, unpredictable humans, you are an idiot. Not saying that doesn't make me an idiot at various points in my life but thats my shit. If you can "SOMEHOW" ensure…
And a final reminder: Street racing is the dumbest thing and the people who do it are literal human garbage.
