Your story does sound possible, if not likely.

My dad had one of those. Got it thinking he would auto-x it. Turned out to be a fragile piece of crap. Cool idea though. The back end was so light two people could easily lift the rear of the car off the ground to waist height.

I very specifically said “unusually high risk, even for VC” in an effort to acknowledge the obvious that VC investments are always high risk. Uber has particularly bleak prospects even for VC. When a venture becomes so large, so over subscribed, I believe the competitive dynamic between top VC funds moves the needle

I’m just trying to illustrate how under certain conditions a VC fund will invest in a venture with unusually high risk, even for VC. Do you not accept that premise?

Uber is a mini VC bubble. Even if the top VC funds think its chances of succeeding are slim they have no choice but to get in on the round because of the competitive dynamic of venture capital. Once the top funds are in on a deal other have to be in on it because of the respective pay offs. Imagine a decision tree...

Peer support seems still kind of untapped.

That is the sickest burn I’ve seen in I can’t even remember.

Really? Is that why all of the power hungry formula drifters are putting pushrod V8s in their Silvias?

I also find it kind of suspect that the ferries reverse thrust came on only after the collision. That suggests the ferry captain was being a dick and wasn’t willing to reverse thrust to actually avoid the collision.

This is what I’m wondering about. I’m only experienced at boating on little lakes, where the rule is generally that boats coming from your right have the right of way. Does that not apply here? Because if it did then Nap Tyme would have had the right of way.

Did Nap Tyme not have right of way?
