This discussion also seems to ignore a very important fact: America’s population has increased 50% in the past 50 years. Average car ownership per household has similarly skyrocketed. All those people and cars have to be/go somewhere, and that somewhere is our roads.
As someone who recently watched the series for the first time, I will recommend that you don’t plan on binge watching it. It’s too intense for more than a couple episodes per day, and you’ll want to reflect on each one for a bit before moving on to the next.
If you happened to own some otherwise useless farmland in the area, you should be excited for the new plant. All those workers are going to need shitty townhouses to live in for 5 years.
It’s a backdoor way of trying to deal with crumbling roads. “Off-roading” is often just driving 2 miles down a country road that became an arterial because of unplanned growth.
