Okay, sure.
There is one show I think really should have been on this list: The Boys. Its dark, funny, and imaginative. Not to mention the casting is spot on. I can’t wait for the second season.
I fear that Watchmen might have a shitty Season 2 just like Westworld did.
I guess he knew then what we all know now ... You’re a dumbfuck.
it was the only book I’ve ever read that kept me up at night. Made me turn on lights as I was so unsettled reading alone in my dank silent and too lonely basement.
I think Johnson had some great ideas, but his execution was severely lacking:

Counter-counterpoint: all culture is “escapist” by design. That doesn’t excuse consuming the worst of it under the guise of “let people enjoy things.”
Your opinion stumbles dangerously close to the territory of the obnoxious “Let People Enjoy Things” meme. Consumers should absolutely have to account for what they consume and why they consume it. The positive effect the Joker movie I’ve seen on various corners of the world makes the movie so much more than a “theme park”. I live in Southeast Asia, where our cultural values are largely conservative, and social progress still lag behind those in the western world. The impact the Joker movie has had in our…
...this is not a good comparison.
Hot take: The Watchmen movie was actually pretty good and maybe Alan Moore isn’t as amazing as he thinks he is, but his material is a good foundation for other people to build upon.
