Yep... starting to experience this with my E30. Just a few years ago they were pretty common in yards, now they’re devoid of yards and craigslisters part them out commanding fortunes for junk parts :(

Hey! That is neat!

Typically this is true... but it isn’t a necessity for low boost applications! Very cool budget turbo, how many miles have you put on the setup?

For sure! It’s likely the most common engine swap on these cars apart from the S50 - S52 from the E36 M3s.

As someone who daily drives an E30 with the I6 (M20B25), I can say that the power paired with a 3.73 diff is perfectly adequate. Plenty of today’s economy cars have similar or lesser power. My partner’s Honda Fit for instance, has a very hard time keeping up with the ol’M20.

I’m just going to place this here, so you, and hopefully the rest of humanity feels just a little better.

No, but seriously... ^ this.

I don’t see any mention of that IX! The Morgan and Triumph are the only ones mentioned... and I’ll bet that IX is rust free too.

Waaaa! Well in the mean time, enjoy the E30!!

It isn’t too bad! I did it while I had my driveshaft taken out, but I think you can manage it without pulling the driveshaft. You just have to work in tight spaces a bit more.

I can also attest to this.

Did you read the article?

So, this is a slight tangent, but am I the only one who is surprised that Ford went with an open deck block for the RS? My understanding was that open deck blocks should be avoided when a turbo is added to the mix as closed and / semi-closed deck designs provide more cylinder support.

Drivers involved in rally racing and hill climbs have my utmost respect, especially without the backing of sponsorship... the thought of it all is absurd.

God damn, my ass clenched so tight during that climb I got a cramp. Now I’m waddling around the office, so thanks for that.

I feel very confident this was a flood car from Harvey, Texas plates!

Notice the Texas plates, 95% sure these are flooded vehicles from Harvey.

Wait, what the flying fuck is up with those back tires. Sleeper of the year?!

Why get a pickup when you have an E30? ;)

LS swap?
