I used to do this too... see the thing is trash talk (in my experience playing real sports and video games) is for the other team.

so first i have to note that the existence of one method to do a thing doesn’t automatically invalidate all other methods. Crowdfunding is a different thing than a tradeshow and its silly to just say one has replaced the other, even sillier to claim there was no consequence to this happening.

Thats what i was indicating with “gaming the game”.

Maybe we can agree to disagree but i felt like the gunplay in borderlands was era appropriate if never quite spectacular. What made BL1 , 2 and pre-sequel “tight” (and maybe its just my opinion) was the mending of fps gameplay with more traditional rpg elements.
