I have to agree here. The S54 is a fantastic engine but the factory setup is just so muted on my E85 M Roadster. There are plenty of aftermarket exhausts, but most of them just amplify the dreaded S54 rasp.

E46 M3, great induction sound but the factory exhaust and many aftermarket ones sound awful. And I am a hardcore BMW guy.
