How’s the percent back on fuel with Freedom? I was auto transferred to the new Costco Citi when they dumped AmEx.

An in-law just posted on FB encouraging people to vote for Gary Johnson. Cue the racists and strychnine opinionators.

Seems like terrible use of optics—is there any strategy/purpose to hiding the nominee away?

O_O

He played my fav character in Stranger Things.

I love how a random search can lead to discovering a new author. Thanks!

Heh, this post resulted in my spending the day searching recommendations. Still hunting! Thanks for another lead :)

The problem I’m trying to articulate, poorly I fear, is that humans tend to flock to those who are similar to us: culturally, by skin color, socioeconomic status, by language. Letting loyalty stand unexamined in hiring, in any industry, is a way of perpetuating a pathway of institutionalized racism and/or segregation.

I think that’s the most effective thing people can do when hiring: cast a wider net and look in places they haven’t recruited from previously.

Ah, I see. Unfortunately, “What do you want me to do, fire my people?” is a defense people mount when resistant to creating a diverse work environment. I hear it all the time at my workplace. Despite our high turnover, we keep managing to hire cookie cutters of employees who have been here the last 30 years...pretty

Maybe I missed it. Has someone here advocated for that?

I’m trying to buy something today with this supposed $10 promo, I got the confirmation email that I received a $10 promo to my account but it’s not showing up at checkout. Anyone know what’s going on with this?

Got any insulated growler recommendations?

This. Is. Awesome.

May we all be as outspoken as that student.

I’ll have to remember this the next time I’m hyperventilating before my own job interview :)

We’re already at the interview stage, but yes, I agree. It’s paramount to reach out to diverse groups of people first.

That’s a good one—I’d add it to our list rather than replace the question we’re trying to rework though.

I really want to make a career switch from govt to tech, but I have no idea where to start. Every tech career position I look at is described in terms I fear I need a whole other degree for...though I’m certain I’m bright enough to start out in a low place and work my way up in the right place. Job descriptions

Need some help. We’re hiring right now and I’m searching high and low for interview questions that gain insight on applicants’ approach to diversity and inclusion. Know anything good to throw our way?
