That was such a great moment.
That was such a great moment.
So true.
There's tons of articles out there about the purple-ness of Wisconsin. If you look at the county by county break down of votes, things crystallize. Metro/diverse areas go to the Dems; everywhere else, including the conservative strongholds just outside the metro areas, go bright bright red. A lot of it is…
As a Wisconsinite, I'll try not to take offense to your comment.
It really is scary. OK, all politicians lie, but Scott Walker takes it to a whole other level.
It will be quite a race...nothing like watching conservatives tearing themselves apart. As much as I'd like us to veer from a two-party system, I sure hope the Dems bring their A game. That hasn't happened in Wisconsin in awhile.
He may have a lackluster charisma, but the extreme right of America is going to love this guy's take on conservatism and his *lack* of a college degree. Bathing in ignorance...it's like a badge of honor or something.
He was—he won the governorship 3 times in the last 4 years. He beat a recall. Wisconsinites are exhausted and entrenched in their opinions of him. And now he's on to his ultimate goal, something Milwaukeeans saw in him years ago, to be President.
He won when the MKE county exec was forced to resign: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Wal…
Don't underestimate Walker. He has the support and the money, and it's terrifying.

The crowd was filled with drunk idiots yelling out interruptions during his entire performance, despite the threat…
Making and nurturing friendships/having fun, playful conversations. I rarely saw my parents socialize with other adults, and I often wonder if it's the source for my lacking self-confidence in this arena. Thank the gods for my husband and brother-in-law; their mere presence injects some fun and enthusiasm into our…
Also, this:
Wisconsin is going to hell in a hand basket. Extremists are obsessed with turning this purple state red. And I can't shake the pit in my stomach that if they succeed here, these regressive policies and rhetoric will flourish just about anywhere.
A million times this.
And, thank the gods for the CSAs and craft beers :)
It is, but good luck if you live outside a metro area.
Oh man, I wish you all the luck in the world.
I've been a vegetarian for 18 years. Usually when folks ask why (I live in Wisconsin, they always ask why) I say it's for several reasons and try to leave it at that. Frankly, it's the most boring conversation in the world. When folks press on, I indicate my displeasure with the food industry and state that I feel…
