Completely with you there :/ Like, I get what holdon was saying, but no. Please just no. The amount of times I hear girls say “I wish I was a lesbian!” because they’re boyfriend did something dumb or guys joking they should be gay because then they’d get to see girls naked...Um, you know that’s 1) not how it works and

I think Zumzum means that it’s ignorant to say you wish you were gay, because, well, it’s more than “hey cool, equal chore division!” There’s huge social stigma. There’s fear of being thrown out of the house. There’s self-hate. There’s the inability to have biological children with your same sex partner. There’s legal

It makes me wish sexuality was a choice. I’d so be gay if it were a choice.

Isn’t it possible that this *does* have something to do with ending stop and frisk? (less jailing poor people = more crime). Does that mean it’s fair? No. Does it work as far as the stats are considered? Yes. Jailing the poor is a great way to keep the wealthy safe.

Jon got married recently! I do wonder how that will affect his stand up. His wife is on the telly here too, so perhaps they'll team up and do something

I’m a big fan of the Aussie Tim Minchin. He’s amazing, though he’s a musical comedian rather than just stand-up. New Zealander Rhys Darby is pretty great too.

I’ve never understood the adulation either. Some of the stuff he says and put in his show is absolutely awful, he just couches it in being ‘subversive’ and ‘going to places everybody thinks but won’t say’. But no, it’s just awful and NOT feminist, and not something ‘everybody’ thinks.

Eddie Izzardddd <3 <3 <3

Another vote for Eddie Izzard. His comedy is brilliant.

I don’t know if it’s Pervo Fatigue, Cusp-Xer cynicism, or knee jerk reactionism, but this doesn’t really surprise me. I like Louie’s comedy, have seen him live, and didn’t dislike his show, but the second season of his show I quit watching because it started rubbing me wrong. Couldn’t tell you why. I can totally see

I also suppose it was a coincidence that they were latino as well. Yup, with you - man spreaders - on public transportation, planes, etc. ... are a blight on society. Like a pimple.

As a kinky person who’s been on precisely that end of a collar and leash, fuck off. That’s rude. Don’t do that in public. It may be consensual on her part, but this is not any different structurally than some dude jerking off on the subway—they’re getting off on the presence of innocent bystanders who have NOT

I didn’t say that Britain or Europe doesn’t produce crap. I’m excluding the crappy content from all countries. The point is that when you get rid of the crap, a lot more British shows are left that make the cut while only a few American shows make the cut.

And let’s not forget that Game of Thrones is almost (if not more) British than it is American.

I started Happy Valley on a whim one Thursday night. 6 hours later I was a mess. Love it.

I love Jhumpa. She’s a true Goddess. People need to bring her up more in every topic. I never heard this anecdote but from what I’ve read about her in interviews, it really seems the sort of thing she’d do.

Theravāda Buddhism. Mainly focusing on Burmese vipassana meditation.

He is a tool. Literally a tool of Capitalism. I have been off work since December. I am looking for work but haven’t found it yet. Lots of free time each day. For the first couple of months I had a tendency to get sad and depressed. But I adjusted and I get through each day now quite well. I putter around the house,

I think it’s a matter of priorities in your life. If your priority is to say, reach a high position in your career, then this kind of thinking probably will benefit you. But if rest and relaxation is of a higher priority to you then this won’t work.

For me personally, all of that required communication and processing and staying up talking for hours about the relationship outweighs any of the potential benefits of polyamory.
